The Emmanuel Mounier Colloquium
The Association of The Friends of Emmanuel Mounier is organizing a international colloquium in his honor Oct. 5-6 in the year 2000, commemorating Mounier's death 50 years ago. Mounier is the creator of a movement in favor of a social revolution based on the concept of the person and the community. His vision of the European disaster after the First World War and the rise of the Nazi's in Germany and the fascists in Italy awakened in him the renewed ideal of a person of dignity, capable of confronting and engaging these circumstances which degrade him. He created the journal Esprit, which continues publishing ten issues a year. For more information on the colloquium, contact: Guy Coq, Association des Amis d'Emmanuel Mounier |
